***Please Note****

This is by no means a definitive guide. It is, however, the method used by our resource staff when preparing written work that is converted into Braille from Microsoft Word 2003/2007 with the use of Duxbury DBT and a Index Basic D Embosser.

GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING MATHS RESOURCES FOR SIGHT IMPAIRED STUDENTS

For large print bold, bullet points and italics may be used in maths (for algebra).

Please put a space between any function signs and the numbers
(+, -, =, x, รท )

To get multiplication sign press ALT & 0215 on the number pad on the right of the keyboard.

To get a division sign press ALT & 0247 on the number pad on the right of the keyboard.

Type fractions as follows: 1/2 or 3/5
